Essential course: Works council work for starters

Today's Works Council is a serious consultation partner for the director and seeks a balance between the interests of the company and the interests of the employees. A good Works Council also involves the employees in important decisions.

As a member of the works council you suddenly have to deal with various important decisions that need to be taken, fortunately (often) together with experienced works council members. The starting members of the Works Council often have a lack of knowledge when starting, but with this basic course you can quickly catch up.

What will you learn in this course?

• You will learn everything you need to know to optimally perform your work as a Works Council member
• You know the rules as stated in the law, but also about the usual day-to-day business in the Works Council
• You are aware of the possibiltiy that the Works Council can be granted additional powers by changes in collective agreements
• After this basic course you will be sharper and more aware of your possibilities
• You are fully aware of the (im)possibilitites of the Works Council within your organization
• You are well prepared for the work you are obliged to do for the Works Council
• Together with the other Works Council members you make a direct contributuion to the success of your organization

Which topics will be addressed?

• All important topics from the Dutch Works Council Act
• Possiblities of extra powers for the Works Council, resulting from collective labor agreements and company agreements
• What is not in the WOR, but is a usual way of working within other works councils?

You will receive the English version of het Works Council Act and also a smart card with the most important things you need.
